HIP REPLACEMENT RECALL

IF YOU OR A LOVED ONE HAS HAD A HIP REPLACEMENT SINCE 2003 PLEASE READ THIS ARTICLE
DePuy Orthopedics, a division of Johnson & Johnson, has issued a WORLDWIDE RECALL of two of their artificial hip devices, the ASR Hip Resurfacing System and the ASR XL Acetabular System. These “metal-on-metal” hip implants can shed particles into the patient causing serious, painful reactions, often leading to further surgery.
While many patients have not yet felt the impact of their hip replacement, many patients have already required replacement surgeries, experienced severe complications and infections due to the recalled devices. The DePuy “voluntary recall” occurred in August 2010, despite the recall of the system in Australia in December 2009.
SCHLEMMER & MANIATIS, LLP is currently investigating injury claims involving the DePuy ASR.
